Heart Failure: The Basics
Congestive heart failure, also known as heart failure, is a condition in which the heart is unable to pump blood efficiently. It can lead to reduced blood flow and a buildup of fluid throughout the body and is often the result of an underlying heart condition. Heart failure can cause symptoms such as fatigue, shortness of breath, chest congestion, and swelling in the ankles and legs.
